The "Technician of the Millennium" competition is a contest conducted by the AC Delco Corporation for automotive repair technicians in the United States and Canada. The first phase of the competition is for technicians throughout North American to take a timed 100 question test that tests their knowledge of theory and operation of all the systems used in today's modern automobile as well as their knowledge of parts lines and product codes. The semi final rounds and the final round of competition are hands on diagnosing and repair of identical cars that have had very difficult to find faults created in them. The winners of each region then compete for the grand prize at the AC Delco convention in Las Vegas NV. Each level of competition has awards and prizes. The grand prize included a new General Motors car or truck, an eight day cruise, a complete Vetronix engine diagnostic system, a Snap-On tool box and much more. Out of thousands of tested technicians Mac qualified in the top 8 for the Western Regional's. The 2007 regional competition was held at the Heritage Center Museum in Pontiac, Michigan. Mac, and his wife Gena along with owners Christian and Marya Reedy all attended the festivities in Pontiac and had a fantastic time thanks to the courtesy and generosity of the AC Delco Corporation. We were all extremely proud of Mac's performance and accomplishments in this competition. His valiant effort fell just short of qualifying for the final round however with this experience and a never ending pursuit of excellence, Mac vows to win it all in the next competition. Our entire community is proud of Mac's accomplishment and Christian's Automotive is proud to have technicians of this "World Class" caliber.
